Upgrade your quilt to a wool-filled king-sized option. Ours are sized generously for a king mattress and made with natural fibres, a 100% New Zealand wool inner and a 100% cotton casing, giving you full quality coverage in natural fibres.
A king wool quilt (or duvet) measures 245 x 210cm, available as a 150gsm summer weight, 350gsm autumn, 500gsm winter, or a Four Seasons option: two doonas that clip together for winter and separate again once it warms up. At 500gsm, a king doona weighs noticeably more in hand than a queen simply because there's more fabric and fill to cover the extra width. Each is cased in 290 thread count cotton cambric with Sanitized® Mintactiv treatment to help protect against dust mites, and remains the most affordable of our three natural fibre king ranges. For a lighter option at the same coverage, our king alpaca doonas are the natural comparison, or see the full breakdown on our quilt buying guide.
At 500gsm and king size, expect a doona with real weight and substance in hand, since a king covers a noticeably larger surface area than a single or queen at the same gsm. Most sleepers find this settled rather than restrictive, but if you'd rather have warmth without the extra weight, our king alpaca doonas (per our quilt buying guide) tend to feel lighter for a comparable level of warmth.
Wool's moisture-wicking structure helps smooth over small differences in body temperature through the night. Where preferences are further apart, two single doonas placed side by side on a king bed can give each person independent control.
A king doona is a big load, so a front loader is essential, and a commercial-sized machine is worth using if you have access to one. Wash on a gentle wool cycle at a maximum of 40°C, and avoid tumble drying on anything above a low setting.
A 5-year guarantee covers any manufacturing faults. Contact our team within that period for a repair or replacement for faults, or see our warranty and returns page for how change-of-mind returns work separately.
