Our Super King Wool Doona Range

A super king wool quilt (or duvet) measures 270 x 240cm, the largest in our range, available as a 150gsm summer weight, 350gsm autumn, 500gsm winter, or a Four Seasons option: two doonas that clip together for winter and separate again once it warms up. Each is cased in 290 thread count cotton cambric with Sanitized® Mintactiv treatment to help protect against dust mites, and it's our most affordable natural fibre option at this size, sitting below both our alpaca and down super king ranges. Because a super king doona uses significantly more fill than a king, weight becomes a bigger factor in comfort, and some people prefer our super king alpaca doonas for a lighter equivalent, or compare every option on our quilt buying guide.

Super King Wool Doona FAQs

The extra width helps here, since there's more room for each person to fold or fluff their own side without pulling the doona off the other person. If preferences are very different, our alpaca range is renowned for its temperature-regulating abilities.

Most home machines aren't built for a super king load. A large-capacity or commercial machine at a laundromat, on a gentle wool cycle at a maximum of 40°C, is the safer option, and dry cleaning is available if you'd rather not manage a wash this size yourself.

Yes. What you're buying here is the filled inner, not the cover, so you'll need a doona cover to go over it. Super king covers are less common in Australian stores than king or queen, so it can be easier to order one alongside your doona from our sheets and pillowcases range.
